I am a graduate student at the Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Maryland, College park. I earned my B.E in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Suratkal, India. Before my current appointment, I have been with Delphi Automotive Systems, Bangalore, India as an Advanced Software Engineer working on embedded systems.
My current research is geared towards acceleration of low dose transmission CT reconstruction on a multiple CPU-GPU heterogenous cluster. The ultimate goal is to make continuous CT scanning and real time reconstruction possible during image guided proedures.I currently focus on the Maximum Likelihood and Penalized Likehood variants of the statistical reconstruction algorithms. I also work on the OR of the Future project that aims to present a 3D Live Augmented Reality involving fusion of real time laparoscopic and CT volume rendered streams to surgeons during minimally invasive procedures.
