CPU-GPU-FPGA based Heterogenous Cluster
The ITL has an 8 node cluster with 2 dual core Xeon processors each with 4 GB of physical memory for a total of 32 processors and 32GB of physical memory. The nodes are connected using Gigabit Ethernet and can be managed with MPI via the Portable Batch System (PBS). In addition, each node has a graphics processor, and Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS. We have made this accessible to non-graphics programs by utilizing CUDA.
Computers
The ITL currently has 5 state of the art dual-processor Xeon workstations, 6 P4 computers, 2 CBYON visualization workstations, a mobile workstation and a file and a ftp server. Two shared printers on the campus-wide network are accessible from all of these workstations. In addition, ITL hosts and manages a 8-node hybrid(CPU-GPU-FPGA) computing cluster. Each node of this cluster offers four CPU (Xeon) cores, a high end graphics processing unit (NVidia GeForce 8800 GTX), 4 GB of main memory and 0.5TB of storage. Currently, two nodes offer FPGA computing support, with future plans of expansion.

FPGA Development Boards
We have two Tsunami high-performance FPGA boards, each with an Altera Stratix EP1S40 FPGA, and one Altera UP2 development kit with an Altera Flex EPF10K70 FPGA.
We also have two DiniGroup FPGA board featuring three Altera Stratix EP2S180 FPGAs.
Advanced Hardware Development Tools
We have a 500 MHz Agilent 54642D Mixed signal oscilloscope for digital hardware testing and debugging.
Ultrasound Acquisition and Tracking Tools
We have a laptop-based Terason Model 2000 Ultrasound System and a Microscribe G2X mechanical tracking system with 0.009" accuracy.
Optical Tracking System
We have NDI Polaris Spectra, a portable, versatile and accurate optical tracking system. The system is used to mainly track the intra-operative tools and endoscope using mounted passive reflective markers.
